By Bobby Atkinson

I build hitters
scouts notice and pitchers fear.

For hitters who want to get recruited. We make you perform when the lights shine brightest and get you noticed — by building your tools: exit velo, strength, speed. Not better at training. Better in games.

⏱️ Take the 60 Second Hitter Test — find out what's holding you back

Powered by Diamond Daily

My guarantee

Do the work for 30 days. If you don’t see any type of improvement — your swing on video, exit velo, consistency, bat speed, strength, speed, anything — I keep coaching you for free until you do.

Proof

Don’t take my word for it.
Take theirs.

Not one hot weekend. Hitters who changed — and stayed changed.

Tommy Atkinson · UIS

Bobby’s brother. Average hitter at JUCO — then hit .384 with 12 home runs at the D2 level. First Team All-Conference, All-Region. His 86 hits rank 4th in program history.

JUCO average → .384 AVG · All-Region

Eric Kaspar Jr. · High school hitter

PRs at the Prep Baseball Illinois Fall Games: 102.6 mph exit velocity, 385 ft max batted distance, 33.7 max rotational acceleration. Then at a D1 camp: best bat speed of everyone there, 87 mph from the outfield — the coach loved how he swung it.

102.6 mph exit velo · best bat speed at D1 camp · 87 mph OF throw

Sam Chapman · College hitter

Couldn’t break 100 mph exit velo. First few weeks in the program, he hit 108. Now he lives in triple digits. “Having a consistent routine everyday is honestly what has helped the most.”

Under 100 mph → 108 mph exit velo → consistently over 100

Krew Bond · D1 outfielder, Omaha

Put in a full summer of work, then opened the fall 4-for-7 with 2 home runs. “Thanks for locking me in my guy over the summer, ur the man.”

A summer of work → 4/7 with 2 HRs to open the fall

Briggs McNab · High school sophomore

“After working with @atkinsonhitting, my swing felt great and more consistent.” Went from 89 mph max exit velo at the end of freshman year to 96.2 early sophomore year. Prep Baseball Fall ID: 336 ft max batted distance, 70.3 mph average bat speed.

89 → 96.2 mph exit velo in one year

More: Sean Popp broke a 3-year homer drought · Danny Mackey homered in his first fall at-bat

That’s what UNCOMMON does. Not better in training. Better when it matters.

The Difference

Training hard isn’t the problem.
Training for the wrong thing is.

Figuring it out alone

  • Random drills off YouTube
  • One lesson a week, then you’re on your own
  • No one to ask when it matters
  • Looks good in the cage
  • Hope it shows up in games

UNCOMMON

  • A plan built for your swing
  • Feedback on every swing, 7 days a week
  • Unlimited access — message me anytime
  • Built for when the lights shine brightest
  • Trained to perform in games

Why This Exists

Everyone’s got a drill.
Nobody’s got your plan.

YouTube is full of drills. Your feed is full of gurus. Your buddies all have opinions. But a drill isn’t a plan — and nobody’s watching your swing and telling you what to work on next.

And here’s the part nobody talks about: getting better at training doesn’t matter. What matters is performing when the game is on the line. That’s what gets you to the next level — not looking good in the cage.

So we build both. The tools — exit velo, strength, speed, the measurables that get you noticed. And the gamer — the approach and mentality to perform when the scouts are in the stands. Tools get you recruited. Performing when it matters keeps you there.

How It Works

Three steps.
Then you’re training.

  1. 1

    Apply or DM.

Fill out the application or DM “TRAIN.” Tell me about your swing and where you want to take it.

  2. 2

    Get your program.

I evaluate your swing and build your individualized program — hitting and mental work. On Complete, that adds movement, med ball, explosiveness, and lifting too.

  3. 3

    Train for games.

Work the program in the app. Film your swings. I coach you on them, and the plan adjusts as you develop — always pointed at game performance.

Send me swing video, ask me a question — anything. I always respond within 24 hours, usually way faster.

Inside The Program

One program.
Built for game day.

Hitting is the headline. Tools and mental work support it — they don’t replace it. Every piece exists for one reason: performing when it counts.

01

Hitting

Your individualized hitting plan — your swing, your drills, your progression. Built from your evaluation, not a template. Every drill pointed at game at-bats.

02

Mental

Lock In routines that get you ready to compete when the lights shine brightest — the same approach behind every session, game, and at-bat.

03

Tools Complete

Movement, med ball, explosiveness, speed, and lifting — the physical measurables that get you noticed. Every rep serves one purpose: making you dangerous at the plate.

From The Coach

“I played D1 college ball. Now I coach hitters all day, every day. And I kept seeing the same thing — guys who raked in the cage and vanished in games.

That’s when it clicked. Training isn’t the point. Performing is. I built UNCOMMON for hitters who want to be better when it matters — not just look better in practice.”

Bobby Atkinson

“Be uncommon.”

“Bob stands out as one of the most intelligent hitters I’ve encountered. His mind in the cage is truly elite, and I can confidently say that working with Bob will make you a better hitter.”

Cam McDonald · Division I Hitting Coach

“When I have a hitter in the Chicagoland area looking to take their game to the next level, Bob is my first call. I have a tremendous amount of confidence in his ability to help hitters improve.”

Will Oberg · Associate Head Coach, Illinois-Springfield

“It’s been amazing to see the transition from All American to hitting coach. His drill package and ability to communicate with each hitter makes him a guy you want in the cage with you.”

Geoff Jimenez · Associate Head Coach, Missouri State

Your Mentor

A mentor.
Not a login.

This isn’t a course you buy and never hear from the coach again. You get me — full access. Message me as much as you want. Bad round of BP, big game tomorrow, 11pm question before a tournament — I’m there.

No cap. No office hours. No “one call a month.” You’re my hitter, I’m your coach. That’s how this works.

And here’s the deal: I’ll match your effort. Send me your videos, ask me questions, tell me what’s going on — the more you bring me, the more I can give you. This works when you work it.

“Bobby’s helped me figure out how to not only improve my swing physically but also improve my approach at the plate. Your average hitting coach doesn’t care enough to take the time to talk about the mental side of the game while Atkinson Hitting does.”

Drew Satunas · College hitter

Questions

Straight answers.

Is this just swing analysis?

No. Swing feedback is part of it, but this is a full program — hitting plan, movement, med ball, lifting, and mental work, all pointed at one thing: performing in games.

What’s the difference between Hitting and Complete?

Hitting is swing + mind: your individualized swing plan, video feedback, and mental approach — for players who already lift and already hit the ball hard. Complete adds everything physical: movement, med ball, explosiveness, strength, and speed.

What do I need to train?

A place to hit and a phone to film your swings. No special equipment required to start.

Who is this for?

Hitters trying to play at the next level who want a plan built for them — not another pile of drills. If it’s not a fit, Bobby will tell you straight.

How does the coaching actually work?

Your program lives in the Diamond Daily app. You train, film your swings, and send them in. Bobby coaches you on video, answers your questions, and adjusts the plan as you develop.

How much does it cost?

Two options: Uncommon Hitting at $279/mo — your individualized swing plan, video feedback, mental approach, and messaging. Uncommon Complete at $349/mo — everything in Hitting plus the tools side: movement, med ball, explosiveness, lifting, and speed. Less than one private lesson a week, with coaching all 7 days. Cancel anytime.
